Neo-classical piano floating over a pulsing kick. Dense textures over grooving basslines. A wide spectrum — contemplative at one end, physical and saturated at the other — with one constant thread: space as architecture, groove as language.
Thunder & Silk doesn't choose a genre — it moves through several, with coherence. Each piece explores a different angle of the spectrum: the restraint of piano in a wash of reverb, the tension of a pad rising over a four-on-the-floor kick, the energy of a funk bassline taking control.
What stays constant: density. Breath. And somewhere in every piece, the moment when everything shifts.
The pieces from Thunder & Silk are built for the stage first: outdoor performances in Montreal this fall, in a fully autonomous setup — synthesizers, sequencers, portable battery. Sets range from the contemplative to the physical and saturated, depending on the moment and the space.
